Another dinner that isn't good for you and should give my stomach a rough time, Aldi's pizza. (Note, I have been taking some digestive enzymes with dinner to help, maybe it is just a placebo, but it doesn't hurt)
Woke up at 4am today, and I felt great. I was a bit confused, drank some water, walked to bathroom. Another easy morning. I still waited a few extra minutes just in case. Good to go.
Now you may ask, why 4am? I was invited to run with Erin and Coach Kevin for a medium length run ( I mapped it out, and it was ~11.5 miles for me). Not one to turn down the chance to run with someone else who runs at or before 5am, I was good to start just a little bit earlier.
So a 4:15am start, they came up north to haul me in, and we were off. Sunrise is getting later now, so a good chunk of the run was dark, 78 degrees still, and VERY muggy as I'm sure everyone else in Chicago is also dripping to. It was kind of cool to have the path to ourselves for like 45 minutes, a little safer feeling in numbers. I still saw a few of my normies on the return leg of the run and got my waves.
We had a easy conversational pace for a good chunk of the run, enjoyable, but we were drenched in our own awesome cooling system. We did a half mile fast finish and then parted ways.
I got home and got out the newspaper from Sunday. Put out one section on the kitchen floor to do my stretches on and drip another liter of sweat on it. I felt like a puppy being potty trained. And my socks and sneakers sounded like wet sponges, like I stepped in the lake..or just my own sweat. More newspaper in them.
Going to pick up a few different run gu thingies today to see what I want to try. I also need a nap. Over the last week, I start waking up every night around 1am and then every 30-45 minutes. Sucks.
Tomorrow is my rest day and in case I don't have funny links or a topic for you, leave me something you want me to talk about or hear about! Just no bronies please.
And today was a - take your stick to work- type of day! Best coffee breaks.
Have a great day! Did you make a great lake after your run today?
